The Kibune restaurant street is situated between two mountains. On your right side a small river flows and the sound of raging water is the back ground music. There are restaurants and ryokans (Japanese style hotel) lining the street both ways. From spring time on till the end of autumn the restaurants cover the river with an Kawadoko, where you eat seated on platforms suspended just above the fast flowing waters of the river. Overhead, are bamboo mats to protect from the sunshine, small Japanese tables are there to accommodate the guests, who sit on tatami mats. There are Japanese lanterns hanging above, waitresses dressed in kimono tend to the guests. In the evening the lanterns give it a most romantic touch.
