Today (April 25) it was such a fine spring day here in Kyoto, I decided to bike to Yamazaki town at the base of Mt.Tennōzan (天王山) in Kyoto Prefecture. The mountain and surrounding area are steeped in Japanese history. Some of the trails are a bit steep and you need some good shoes. One of the places I visited was Kannon-ji (山崎聖天) also called Yamazaki Shouten. The history of this temple dates back to it's founding in 899. What excited me the most was a small wisteria trellis. They are in full bloom now, smell nice and are stunning.
